In a quiet village in Bangladesh, 10-year-old Jihad Ali lives a life filled with unique challenges and immense courage. Diagnosed with Intellectual Disability and Epilepsy, Jihad’s days are marked by struggles that most children his age never have to face.
As a baby, Jihad’s milestones unfolded with determination. He learned to sit at 10 months, walked by 1 year, and began speaking simple words by 2 years old. But his journey has been anything but typical. From the third day after his birth, Jihad experienced seizures—frightening episodes that have persisted throughout his life.
Today, Jihad continues to experience unpredictable seizures that make it difficult for him to live like other children. His condition leaves him unable to engage in normal activities or venture far from home. His mother describes their ongoing challenges:
"Jihad had his first seizure just days after birth, but we didn’t understand what was happening. Over time, it became clear that he has epilepsy. As he grows, the signs of his condition become more evident. We want to help him, but our financial situation prevents us from getting him the specialized care he needs."
Despite his struggles, Jihad has dreams—dreams of exploring the world beyond his small village, of feeling safe and free from the constraints of his condition. His family shares these dreams, but they are unable to afford the advanced medical care, therapies, and support that could make a difference in his life.
