Compa is a 13-year-old girl from Sylhet district who has an intellectual disability. Her family became aware of her condition when she was four years old. Compared to other children, Compa faced significant delays in sitting, walking, and other developmental milestones. She exhibits erratic behavior, struggles to comprehend her surroundings, and cannot attend school due to her condition.
Compa has one sibling, and her father is a farmer. Her mother stays at home to care of her. The family’s financial situation is dire, and they cannot afford the expenses required for her medical treatment. As a result, Compa has not received adequate medical care, further worsening her challenges.
Through the support of the UHCD Foundation, Compa is now receiving some medical assistance. However, her family is still unable to cover the costs of advanced treatment that could improve her quality of life. They are deeply concerned about her future and are appealing for support to ensure she gets the care she needs.
