The story of the UHCD Foundation is a testament to the power of empathy and a child's pure-hearted desire to help.
It all began with Shafee, then a 3-year young boy diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy, was seating with some disadvantaged children he invited for dinner, including one with a disability. His innocent inquiry to his mother about helping that disabled boy for arranging physical therapy at that table sparked a journey of extraordinary compassion and action.
That moment of empathy sowed the seeds of the UHCD Foundation to the parents of Shafee. Co-founders of the Foundation, Khaled Shahriar and Dr. Mahmuda Sawgat, touched by their son's eagerness to help for others despite his own challenges, embarked on a mission to make a difference for the financially disadvantaged disabled children.
From a single act of kindness, the UHCD Foundation has become a beacon of hope and a symbol of what empathy, combined with action, can achieve across the globe.
