Mostafizur Rahman Mostafiz is a 9-year-old boy whose life was changed forever when, at just 18 months, he fell gravely ill with a high fever. That illness left him with an intellectual disability, slowing his development and making everyday communication a struggle. Mostafizur speaks in short, broken phrases, unable to fully express himself. His family managed to get him some speech therapy at She-Re-Bangla Medical College, but their financial constraints forced them to stop treatment far too soon. Mostafizur’s father works a small job and is the sole provider for their family of five. With three children depending on him, the burden of Mostafizur’s skyrocketing medical costs is too much to bear. Despite his best efforts, he simply cannot manage the ongoing care his son desperately needs, leaving the family in a difficult situation. Yet, they remain full of hope for their child and dream of him continuing his studies at the Bakerganj Autism School and achieving more tremendous success in his life. Now, they turn to the UHCD Foundation for help, hoping for a brighter future for Mostafizur. His potential could be unlocked with the proper support, and he could make real progress.
