Meet Sumaiya Akter Mim, a 21-year-old young woman with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) characteristics. Mim resides with her parents in Dhaka, where she continues to inspire with her resilience and creativity.
From birth, Mim’s family noticed developmental differences. She didn’t cry after birth, which raised initial concerns. Mim reached early milestones like crawling at 6 months, sitting at 10 months, standing at 1 year, walking at 2 years, and beginning to speak at 3 years. However, she faces ongoing challenges in communication and mobility. Mim cannot fully express herself through speech and often remains silent when asked questions, responding slowly or not at all. She also has slight difficulty walking.
Despite these challenges, Mim has a passion for photography and excels at capturing beautiful images. It is her cherished hobby, providing her with a creative outlet.
