Lets meet with Kazi Masuk Ahmed Rahat
Kazi Masuk Ahmed Rahat is a 15-year-old boy from Bangladesh who has faced challenges since he was just seven months old. Diagnosed with Spastic Diplegic Cerebral Palsy and an Intellectual Disability, Rahat hasn’t been able to walk due to the stiffness in his knees and feet. When he tries to walk on his own, his body trembles, lacking strength from his knees to his toes. Over the years, Rahat has received extensive treatment at CRP, BSMMU, Neuroscience, and even in India, yet his condition remains unchanged. At home, Rahat moves around by crawling, as he hasn’t taken therapy or medications in the last three years.
Following his father’s passing, Rahat’s memory and focus have been affected, and he no longer attends school. Doctors have advised the family not to place physical pressure on him, adding further limitations to his mobility. Rahat has a twin brother, born five minutes before him, who is healthy and able-bodied—a difference that deepens the family’s hope for Rahat’s future.
Despite these challenges, Rahat’s family remains strong and hopeful, but they need support to provide him with ongoing therapies and daily care.
Through UHCD, you can help make a difference in Rahat’s life by giving him access to resources that can improve his comfort and quality of life. Together, we can help Rahat’s family continue their journey of resilience and hope.
