Lets meet with Hamida
Seven-year-old Hamida is a gentle soul with curious eyes and a soft voice that rarely speaks more than a few precious words—“father,” “mother,” and the names of those closest to her heart. Her world is quiet, limited not by her dreams, but by a body that hasn’t kept pace with her spirit.
From birth, Hamida’s journey has been filled with challenges. She learned to crawl at eight months old, and even now, crawling remains her way of moving around. Her small, crooked legs cannot bear her weight, and while she can sit, she cannot straighten her legs or stand.
Speaking is difficult for Hamida. Though her mind is sharp in moments of recognition and love, her ability to express herself is limited to a handful of familiar names. Mealtimes are painful—solid food often causes bleeding, so she lives on a liquid diet. Adding to her struggles are frequent fevers and chills that leave her frail and exhausted.
Another medical concern weighs heavily on her family: Hamida’s testicles have not descended, a condition that requires treatment they cannot afford. Her health issues have been evident since birth, but without the financial means, her parents have been unable to seek the care she so urgently needs.
Still, amidst the uncertainty and pain, Hamida brings warmth to those around her. Her quiet smile, her soft calls to her mother, her will to move and play in her own way—these small moments give her family strength. They dream of a day when she can receive proper treatment, eat without pain, and explore the world beyond her room.
More than anything, Hamida’s family longs to give her the chance at a healthier, happier life. They hold onto hope, believing that one day, help will come—and with it, a brighter future for their beloved little girl
