Maisha Rahman is a 9-year-old girl who lives with her family in a village in Chapainawabganj, Bangladesh. Maisha’s health challenges began when she was just one month and 15 days old, with a swollen stomach that led her parents to rush her to the hospital. She suffered from Pneumonia and Jaundice as an infant. Despite their best efforts and medical treatments, Maisha’s health continued to decline, and the medicine caused her to bleed. Diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy, Developmental Delay, Epilepsy, Physical Disabilities, Maisha’s condition has left her unable to move her limbs or speak. Through all these struggles, Maisha’s mother’s love remains constant, as she tirelessly cares for Maisha. Her father, a humble farmer, works hard to support the family, though financial limitations make it difficult to provide Maisha with the care she requires. The family remains hopeful for a brighter future, seeking help not for luxuries, but for the necessities of life to improve Maisha’s quality of living. Despite her physical limitations, Maisha’s family stands strong together, holding onto the hope that with support, Maisha can receive the therapies and care that will make a difference in her life.
