Lets meet with Umme Habiba
In the quiet corners of Chapainawabganj, Bangladesh, 16-year-old Umme Habiba Bristi faces a life shaped by cerebral palsy, developmental delay, and speech impairment. Her world is one of unspoken thoughts and unfulfilled expressions. Unable to communicate her needs or recognize familiar faces, Bristi’s days often pass in confusion, leaving her reliant on the care of her family.
Despite her challenges, Bristi’s spirit shines through in her small, determined actions. She struggles to keep up with the everyday rhythms of her siblings, who go to school while she remains at home, her world confined to a narrow space. Watching others live lives of activity and growth fills her parents with worry and longing—they dream of a future where she can thrive, even in small ways.
Her father, burdened by the responsibility of providing for a large family, works tirelessly as a farmer. However, financial constraints have prevented them from accessing the therapy and medical care that could improve Bristi’s life. In a village setting where understanding of disabilities is often limited, Bristi faces social isolation, as her unique needs make it difficult for others to relate to her.
With the right care—speech therapy, physical therapy, and developmental support—Bristi could unlock new possibilities in her life. She could learn to express herself in her own way, gain more independence, and experience moments of joy beyond her current limitations. Your support could help Bristi and her family take the first step toward this brighter future, bringing hope and opportunity where it is most needed.
