Lets meet with Ashifa
Ashifa is a 9-year-old girl from Chapainawabganj, living with her family of five, including two siblings. She was diagnosed with Down syndrome at a young age, a condition that has caused speech delays, communication challenges, and cognitive difficulties. Ashifa relies on her mother for daily care, who is always there to support her needs and ensure her comfort and security.
The family faces significant financial challenges. Ashifa's father, a farmer, is the sole provider, but his income barely covers their basic needs, leaving no room for essential therapies such as speech and occupational therapy or medical treatments. Due to their limited resources, they can only afford to visit a doctor once every two years, making it almost impossible to provide the consistent therapy, medication, or counseling Ashifa requires.
Despite these difficulties, Ashifa is a cheerful and creative child with a love for drawing. She is eager to learn and dreams of excelling in her education. However, under their current circumstances, continuing her education feels nearly impossible for the family. They hope for a brighter future for Ashifa—one where she can overcome obstacles and enjoy a better quality of life.
Through UHCD, you can help bridge this gap by providing Ashifa with access to therapies, tools, treatments, and educational opportunities. Your support can empower Ashifa to continue her journey with the care, strength, and encouragement she needs to thrive and achieve her potential.
