Lets meet with Mst.Wayta Khatun
Wayta is a 15-year-old girl from Chapainawabganj, living with her family of five, including two siblings. Diagnosed with Down syndrome at a young age, she faces challenges such as speech delays, communication difficulties, and cognitive impairments. Wayta relies on her mother for daily care, who provides constant support to ensure her comfort and well-being.
The family struggles to make ends meet financially. Wayta's father, the sole breadwinner, has a modest job, and his income is barely enough to cover basic necessities. This leaves no room for essential therapies like speech and occupational therapy or necessary medical treatments. Due to their limited resources, they can only afford a doctor’s visit once every two years, making it nearly impossible to provide Wayta with consistent therapy, medication, or counseling.
Despite these hardships, Wayta is a cheerful and creative teenager with a passion for drawing. She is eager to learn and dreams of excelling in her education. However, her family’s financial challenges make it difficult to support her educational and therapeutic needs. They hold onto the hope of a brighter future for Wayta—one where she can overcome obstacles and lead a fulfilling life.
Through UHCD, you can help make this dream a reality. Your support can provide Wayta with access to vital therapies, tools, treatments, and learning opportunities, empowering her to thrive and achieve her potential with strength and encouragement.
