Lets meet with Mst. Rojoni Khatun
Rojoni Khatun, a 15-year-old girl from Chapainawabganj, Bangladesh, has faced unimaginable challenges in her young life. she has been suffering from multiple joint pain and deformities since she was just seven years old. She has struggled with severe physical limitations that have made her walking and moving around a difficult task. Her condition has left her in constant pain. As a result, she had to leave school at a tender age, cutting short her education and dreams of a brighter future.
Rojoni's life took a tragic turn when her parents abandoned her, leaving her to live with her elderly grandparents. Despite their deep love for her, they are unable to afford the medical treatments she desperately needs. For nearly eight years, Rajoni has sought various therapies, but none have provided relief from the unbearable pain that plagues her body daily. Her world became increasingly confined as she struggled to cope with her physical limitations and the emotional toll of abandonment.
However, hope emerged when UHCD Foundation stepped in to assist Rojoni. Through their support, she was able to access an effective treatment scheme that finally addressed her medical needs. This turning point not only alleviated some of her physical suffering but also reignited her desire for education. Rojoni expressed a heartfelt wish to return to school, and recognizing her dedication and cognitive abilities, the organization facilitated her immediate enrollment.
To further enhance her quality of life, Rojoni was provided with a mobility aid—a specially designed chair that allows her to navigate her surroundings more easily. This new mobility has opened doors for Rojoni, enabling her to participate in activities she once thought were beyond reach.
Today, Rojoni is living a life filled with joy and possibilities that she could only dream of for so long. She is back in school, engaging with peers, and learning once again. The support from UHCD has transformed her physical health and restored hope and happiness in her life. Rojoni's story is a testament to the strength and profound impact that kindness and support can have on those facing adversity.
