Though he couldn’t speak, Moons eyes always sparkled with an infectious joy that touched everyone around him. He shared a small house with his mother, Maryam Khatun, and his grandmother. Life was hard since Moon’s father had abandoned their family when he was very young. Despite their struggles, Maryam worked tirelessly to provide for her family, always ensuring that Moon’s needs were met.

Moon’s greatest joy came from playing football. The simple act of every kick, throw or catch filled his world with immense joy. His infectious smile and laughter would spread around to the other children in his neighborhood. In these fleeting moments, his hardships seemed to disappear, replaced by only the pure delight of play. But not all the children welcomed Moon into their games. They excluded him, calling him names like “dumb” which caused him to often be alone while watching the others have fun. The isolation deeply wounded him as he longed to be part of their joy.

Maryam, despite their financial challenges, did everything in her means to brighten Moon’s days. She would occasionally bring home his favorite foods on the days she could—as a rare treat. The pure glee on Moon’s face during these moments were bright enough to fill up their modest home. Although simple, these small treats were like treasure in his world. His football was his prized possession, and playing with it brought him endless happiness.

Maryam wished for better opportunities for her beloved son, but their financial situation made it seem unattainable. On top of that, with the addition of epileptic seizures which he had recently started experiencing only further worsened their circumstances. Moon’s challenges were vast, but so was the love and hope that surrounded him. It would only take the compassion of a kind soul to help make Moon’s dream of acceptance and a brighter future a reality.
"parent1_monthly_income":null,"parent1_currency":13,"parent2_monthly_income":null
