Vim is a 14-year-old boy who faces the world with more challenges than most his age. He has an intellectual disability that has prevented his ability to speak, and his vision is impaired, with a noticeable squint eye that makes it hard for him to engage with the world around him. His physical strength is low, and these factors combine to make daily life incredibly difficult. Vim's family first noticed these struggles when he was about 3 or 4 years old, but due to financial constraints, they have not been able to afford the medical treatment that could help Vim manage his condition. His father, a farmer, works tirelessly, but the family’s income is stretched thin, especially with three other siblings to care for. Vim’s condition has left him unable to communicate his needs or participate fully in family life. Despite these challenges, Vim's family remains hopeful that with the right care, he can lead a more fulfilling life.
