Lets meet with Afiya Islam
Meet Afiya, a sweet and spirited 3-year-old girl whose life has been marked by silent struggle from an early age. Afiya was born via cesarean section, and her first moments gave no indication of any health concern. But as she began to grow, her mother noticed something was wrong.
By the time she turned two, it became clear—Afiya’s right hand could barely move. The entire right side of her body seemed weak, and even the smallest of tasks became impossible for her. She cannot lift, hold, or use her right hand, which affects her ability to play, learn, and live like other children her age.
Afiya’s father is no longer in the picture. Her brave mother, determined to give her daughter a good life, works tirelessly as a home tutor to provide for the two of them. But her income is meager, and while she has taken Afiya to a government hospital, the doctors have made it clear: Afiya needs more specialized care to improve her chances of recovery.
Her mother says, “She is my only child. I will do everything I can for her. But I can’t afford the treatment she needs. I just want her to grow up happy, able to do things on her own.”
Now, Afiya and her mother are asking for your help.
With the right medical attention—therapy, checkups, and physical rehabilitation—Afiya could regain strength and function in her hand, giving her the chance to live a more independent and fulfilling life. But they can’t do it alone.
