Lets meet with Mst. Sumaiya Akter

Sumaiya is a bright 9-year-old girl who has been through more challenges in her short life than most could imagine. Born with physical disabilities and speech delay, her early days were marked by struggles. After birth, Sumaiya suffered from convulsions and a cold, and soon after, her parents noticed she wasn’t developing like other children. At just two months old, her mother could sense something was different. It became clear that Sumaiya was not reaching the milestones typical for children her age, and after consulting a doctor, she was diagnosed as a special needs child. Despite the early challenges, Sumaiya made some progress. By the age of six months, she began crawling, and at one year, she learned to sit up. By the age of one and a half years, she was able to take her first steps. However, the road to achieving independence has been slow and difficult. Today, Sumaiya still struggles to walk or speak properly. She can say a few words like "father" and "mother," but her communication and mobility are still significantly delayed. Sumaiya’s parents, despite their immense love and devotion, face tremendous challenges in supporting their daughter. Her father works hard at a low-income job, but the financial strain of providing for Sumaiya’s medical needs has made it difficult to access the necessary treatments and therapies. Every day is a struggle—not only with the physical challenges Sumaiya faces but also with the financial burden that continues to grow. Sumaiya's mother dreams of a future where her daughter can walk freely and communicate more easily. She hopes for the opportunity to provide Sumaiya with the proper treatment and therapy that could help her gain strength and independence. But without adequate resources, the family’s dreams remain distant. Sumaiya’s parents have tried their best, but they need help. The medical expenses are high, and the constant juggling of finances has made it difficult to give Sumaiya the care she deserves. They are reaching out, hoping for the support and intervention that could transform their daughter's future. Your assistance could provide Sumaiya with access to the therapies and medical care she desperately needs. With the right treatment, Sumaiya could experience improvements in her mobility and speech, helping her to connect with the world around her. This support would also alleviate the financial burden on her family, enabling them to focus on Sumaiya’s progress rather than their daily struggles. By supporting Sumaiya, you can give her the opportunity to take those crucial steps toward a brighter future—a future where she can walk, talk, and live a life filled with possibilities. Your generosity would not only bring hope to Sumaiya but also provide relief to her loving family, who are working tirelessly to help her overcome the challenges of her condition. Together, we can make a lasting difference in Sumaiya’s life. Will you join us in giving her the chance for a better tomorrow? Your support can help make her dreams of walking and talking a reality

Your $29 monthly gift will give Her access to life-changing education programs, crucial health and dental services, life skills, and more. At UHCD Foundation, we believe empowering disabled children can break the cycle of poverty for their families, their community and the next generation.
