Nurafa is an 8-year-old girl suffering from both a physical disability and delayed speech. Nurafa’s birth was not entirely smooth, as she suffered from convulsions. Although Nurafa’s milestones were not all delayed, she struggled to learn to speak until she was 5. Unfortunately, Nurafa is dependent on her mother for her daily tasks. The fact that her family is below the poverty threshold also makes it quite difficult for them to afford Nurafa’s treatment. At UHCD, Nurafa is hoping for financial assistance as well as rehabilitative services.
