The UHCD Activity Program connects children with disabilities with purposeful leisure and recreational activities that enhance their physical, social, and emotional growth. At the same time, this program checks progress in developmental areas. It measures the strengths and weaknesses of every child and their potential, whatever their needs are in education and social life. Skilled mentors deliberately structure the multi-ability activities to ensure each child meaningfully participates. In this supportive environment, children can utilize their talents and develop physically and enhance their sensory and motor skills. Participating in these activities gives them a sense of accomplishment and teaches them how to overcome limitations while discovering new interests and abilities that expand their development. As the program seeks to develop social relations and opportunities, the goal is to help children grow to their maximum potential.
